          Are you confused about  wigs, caps, color, styles, how to wear one and how to care for them? If you are confused or just starting out as a new wearer, then I hope to help clarify the selection process making this an enjoyable experience rather than a difficult one. Be aware that there is a huge amount of material available to help you but it tends to be overwhelming. Also, much of it is too technical to help and is not really needed. I have done the research for you and have prepared the data in an easy to understand, step-by-step guide.

MY STORY

I began wearing wigs some time ago. The loss of my own natural hair started shortly after surgery for a medical condition. The medications I had to take afterwards sped up the process and I soon realized that I needed help. The stress of the procedure and healing seemed to make things worse also. At first it seemed mild and I could compensate for it by changing my hairstyle. Not for long! After quite a long time  of trying to deal with  my hair loss and  hearing my family and friends  tell me  it was  OK, it was time.

          After deciding to do doing something about my hair loss, I found out that I was not a candidate for hair loss treatments including transplants. These are also very costly. Soon afterwards I began checking into wigs that may also be known as "head coverings" or "artificial hair". As I soon found out, the information available was abundant, however, it seemed to go into more detail than I needed or wanted.

                         

GENERAL INFO

          There are several areas that you need to know about in selecting  wigs. These include: Caps, Sizes, Color, Styles, The Care of  wigs,  including  stands. There are several Brand names of  wigs like: Raquel Welch, Paula Young, Eva Gabor, Beverly Johnson (and many more) as well as types like blonde, Elvis and Beyonce.

                   There are Synthetic and Human Hair wigs available.
